H. Elaine Lindgren research papers, 1977-2003.

The bulk of Lindgren's papers date from the mid-1980s to mid-1990s documenting her research agenda, including for her publications: Land in her own name, Work makes life sweet, The rural mystique, and the article "Coal, Cuba, and courage: the adventuresome spirit of Annie C. Lind," published in North Dakota History. The collection is rich in Lindgren's research material documenting women who homesteaded in North Dakota, which also includes tape recordings she made with women homesteaders in North Dakota. Related photographs have been organized as a separate collection (Photo 2008).
